2021 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON 4XE
The list of what a Wrangler can’t do is quite
short, and for 2021 Jeep has removed what
might have been the only entry on that
list: the ability to travel on purely electric
power. The new Wrangler 4xe combines
plug-in hybrid efficiency with Jeep’s
legendary off-road prowess, and the result
is one of the most capable and innovative SUVs ever made. The Wrangler 4xe can travel
up to 25 miles on a fully charged battery, which is mounted under the rear seats in order
to preserve interior space and functionality and is encased in an aluminum housing for
durability and protection. Despite its newfound electrification, the Wrangler 4xe can still
ford up to 30 inches of water, and it comes with three “E Selec” modes: Hybrid, Electric, and
eSave. Thanks to the two electric motors, when off-roading in 4Lo the Wrangler 4xe delivers
instant and precise torque to the 4WD system, allowing users to dial in the exact amount
of power necessary for better control in delicate situations. All three E Selec modes are still
available in 4Lo, meaning the Wrangler 4xe can tackle the toughest terrain in virtual silence,
allowing occupants to enjoy the outdoors in the most natural way possible.
