2021 RAM 1500 TRX
Although the Ram TRX’s 702 horsepower
supercharged V8 engine can catapult it to 60 mph in
4.5 seconds and through the quarter mile in a logic-
defying 12.9 seconds at 108 mph, the TRX remains, at
its core, a pickup truck. It can haul more than 1,300 lbs
in its bed, and it can tow up to 8,100 lbs, which is more
in both measures than its most direct competitor, the
Ford Raptor. To ensure off-road supremacy, the Ram TRX’s frame is 74 percent different from
that of the standard Ram 1500. The axles have been repositioned in the TRX, and it rides
on a Bilstein suspension system featuring remote reservoirs and electronic adjustability. A
two-inch higher ride height compared to that of the standard Ram 1500 gives the TRX 11.8
inches of ground clearance and the ability to ford bodies of water up to 32 inches deep.
Inside, the TRX comes with a flat-bottomed heated steering wheel with aluminum shift
paddles, UConnect 4 infotainment with a 900-watt and 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio
system, and an all-new head-up display that can show up to five unique content areas at
one time.
