2022 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR
The Lincoln Navigator gets a styling refresh inside
and out for 2022, including a new grille, headlights, and
taillights. It also gets ActiveGlide driving-assist, which is
Ford’s version of a hands-free, semi-autonomous driving
system. The Navigator is a full-size, three-row luxury SUV
that seats 7 passengers. Competitors include the Cadillac
Escalade, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Lexus LX600. A long-
wheelbase variant is also available.
Three trims are offered: Standard, Reserve, and Black
Label. One engine is available: A turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that makes 450 horsepower and
mates to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive is standard with all-wheel-drive
being optional. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 8,300 pounds.
Lincoln is touting Ford’s semi-autonomous driving system, dubbed ActiveGlide (BlueCruise
in Ford vehicles) on the Navigator. Like GM’s SuperCruise, it offers hands-free driving in certain
conditions on more than 100,000 miles of divided highways across the U.S. and Canada. The
system monitors the driver’s attention level and prompts drivers to pay attention or take over
if necessary. Pricing ranges from $77,000 to $100,000.
